Technical Writer/Documentation Analyst (Software Product)

We have one opportunity for a Technical Writer/Documentation Analyst at ESSS in São Paulo-SP or Florianópolis-SC.

We are looking for a talented technical writer to help create and maintain a modern documentation and user help infrastructure. You will be a core part of the product management team working closely with engineering, product marketing, and customer enablement to create resources that don’t just document what the product does, but speeds up a user from novice to power user. Customer performance is key for the Rocky business, and the tools you will build will create a powerful impact on adoption.

For this position, your key challenges will be: 

• Management and leadership in product documentation, for the Rocky software, with customers in more than 40 countries. Check out the Rocky Youtube channel.
• Work close to the technical team to understand and define documentation priorities.
• Writing and maintaining various types of software usage documents (manuals, articles, training content, videos, etc.) for an engineering end-user audience.
• Actively participating in UI/UX discussions as a user advocate.
• On-the-job learning of engineering simulation software, including CAE, CFD, and DEM (https://rocky.esss.co/).
• Developing and reviewing standard operating procedures, in relation to product documentation, including the analysis of new market tools, or alternative documentation formats.
• Writing and reviewing documentation in 100% English language with results that are suitable for a global audience.
• Demonstrable professional technical writing and communication skills in English is a must for this position.

Required Requirements:

• For this position, a Bachelor's Degree is required, preferably in a writing field such as English or Communications, with a technical background in the software or engineering fields.
• 5+ years of experience as a technical writer for technology/software products.
• Strong experience owning an end-to-end documentation creation process.
• Fluent in the English language.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Ability to be proactive, ask questions, and achieve positive results across various teams.
• Have a positive attitude and be willing to jump in and tackle new challenges.

Desirable

• Experience with User Manual (for software) writing.
• To have a certificate of passing a TOEFL or IELTS exam in the last 5 years.
• To have a certificate in technical writing or similar qualification.
• Experience in Latex / Markdown / HTML / CSS / Confluence / Jira.
